This month’s Best Practice comes from Mrs. Brittany Motes, elementary Gifted & Teacher from in Vernon, CT.
One of my favorite ways to use the New Lesson feature in the Teach section of Renzulli Learning is to help students build schema when we introduce new topics! Over the next two weeks my third grade students are going to start problem solving activities involving air, but I wanted them to understand the different ways air impacts our lives! I was able to look at the identified resources from the database, review them, and choose which ones I wanted students to complete. Picking required activities ensures that all students are looking at some of the same information, but then the Differentiation Engine chooses activities for the students based on their Profiler results. This is a great way for me to easily differentiate for my students based on interest, level, AND learning style!
