Students from Brazil and the United States Join Forces for an Engaging PBL Collaboration
In a world where international conflict and misunderstanding are all too commonplace two far thinking organizations committed to learning and international understanding have come together to build bridges and friendships between students from different countries. Brazil's Sapiens and local Renzulli Learning have partnered on a global project that will initially bring about 100 students, 50 from Brazil and 50 from the US, together, right here in Bloomfield, CT!
This will provide the students with the opportunity to collaborate on projects with their peers in these two countries, leading to a tremendous cultural exchange and better understanding of each other's nations. Students in both countries see firsthand how kids their own age live work and play at opposite ends of a planet that is getting smaller every day. We all can't help but benefit.
Participating teacher Jeanne Pascon stated, “I am so excited to bring this global cultural exchange experience to the SOAR students at Carmen Arace Intermediate School! This opportunity to see beyond our local community into the lives of students their age will be eye opening, both for what is so similar across the world and also for what is so vastly different. I have a special, personal connection to Brazil, so the fact that the school we have been partnered with is from Brazil makes this even more significant for me as an educator. I am so thankful to our friends from Renzulli Learning for offering this opportunity to Bloomfield SOAR and I can't wait to see our partnership grow!”
