The Library of Congress, National Archives and Records Administration, National Endowment for the Humanities, National Gallery of Art, National Park Service, Smithsonian Institution and United States Holocaust Memorial Museum join in commemorating and encouraging the study, observance and celebration of the vital role of women in American history.

The theme for 2020 is “Valiant Women of the Vote.”
In recognition of the centennial of the 19th Amendment, we will honor women from the original suffrage movement as well as 20th and 21st century women who have continued the struggle (fighting against poll taxes, literacy tests, voter roll purges, and other more contemporary forms of voter suppression) to ensure voting rights for all.

There are several ways you can utilize Renzulli Learning to celebrate Women’s History in the classroom:

1.Let the students drive – allow them to search the keyword phrase “Women’s History” in the enrichment database and they can even practice setting various filters in the Advanced Search function.  Allow them to share favorite finds either in a group message board in RL or on a bulletin board or white board.

2.Search “Women’s History” from the Teacher’s Site and set your grade level as a filter to locate fantastic resources that you can “Favorite,” create a center around, or send out to your students through RL.

3.Try one of our Women’s History Assignment Templates, tailored for various grade levels. You can customize the templates to meet your curricular and students’ needs.
